Environmental authorities in the Indian state of Rajasthan are in the final stages of closing 893 fabric dying units in Sanganer, near the state capital Jaipur. “The electricity department has been instructed and their power supply will soon be disconnected,” K.C.A. Arun Prasad, member secretary of the Rajasthan Pollution Control Board, told just-style.The board is complying with an April 27 order of the Rajasthan High Court, which said 213 units in the town have to be closed by May 31 and another 680 by the end of June, for causing water pollution.The move ...
