THE HIGH flux reactor at the European Union (EU) Joint Research Centre's institute of energy has successfully tested a new cure for brain tumours caused by skin cancer. The centre said this boron neutron capture therapy killed cancer cells while leaving healthy tissue unharmed. This innovative treatment can currently only be staged at nuclear research reactors.
