QATAR AIRPORT TO EXPAND E-GATE NUMBERS

QATAR’S Hamad International Airport is planning to open 20 new e-gates this year to speed passenger flows. The government-linked daily newspaper Al Sharq has reported that these will combine with the existing 40 e-gates - 19 are in arrivals and 21 in departures. Airport managers said 2.46 million passengers used the Doha facility’s e-gates last year (2017), up from 1.41 million in 2016. The expansion announcement comes as the interior ministry has advised passengers “to make use of e-gate facility at Hamad…for quick completion of immigration process ...
