BY MONICA DOBIE DOGS may provide some answers to the mystery of genetic disorders in people through a new European Union (EU) project called LUPA that will try to pinpoint genetic disorders in purebred canines. The 12 EU countries involved in the scheme (including Britain - where the University of Cambridge and others are participating) will collect 10,000 DNA samples from pedigree dogs that are either healthy or suffering from certain diseases.
