PORTUGAL IN LATEST COMPUSORY DISTILLATION GRANT

THE EUROPEAN Wine Management Committee has approved the latest round of compulsory distillation handouts in the European Union (EU) - this time to Portugal, who will receive aid of Euro 1.914 per % abv per hectolitre to distill 200,000 hl of table wine. The committee again noted the "considerable surpluses" on EU wine markets and price falls.
