PANRICO IN TALKS WITH STRIKE UNIONS

Discussions are scheduled over the next week between management and unions as the indefinite strike that has halted production at Spanish baker Panrico's Santa Perpètua de Mogoda factory in Barcelona since October 13 continues. Discussions centre on a viability plan put forward by management. The strike called by the CCOO and UGT, the two main unions at the plant, is over non-payment of wages and threatened redundancies.Management warned at the weekend that no employee was essential, according to reliable media quoting company sources.
