SLOW growth in Pakistan’s construction and industrial sectors in 2012 dampened domestic demand for paint and coatings, putting the industry in a difficult position.Industry sources told the Asia Pacific Coatings Journal that the sector has also been weakened by the discontinuation of the national voucher-based ‘token scheme’ in the decorative paint category.
