ORGANICS CASE

THE EUROPEAN Commission is taking Germany and Austria to the European Court of Justice, asking it to order the abolition of a system requiring licensed private organic food production inspection offices to be located on their national territories. Brussels claimed that this breaks European Union (EU) freedom of provision of services rules, harming organic meat producers and consumers.
