ONLINE FRAUDSTERS STEAL FROM TESCO BANK ACCOUNTS

Cybercriminals have targeted the UK’s Tesco Bank, fraudulently withdrawing money from 20,000 customer accounts last weekend. Bank chief executive Benny Higgins said: “Tesco Bank can confirm that…some of its customers’ current accounts have been subject to online criminal activity, in some cases resulting in money being withdrawn fraudulently”. The bank revealed that some 40,000 accounts had shown suspicious transactions with money stolen from half.
