THE EUROPEAN Commission is publicising three research projects designed to improve nutrition amongst old people. They are: LIPIDIET on preventing Alzheimer's disease through diet (http://www.lipidiet.org/); OPTIFORD on how vitamin D supplements can strengthen bones (http://optiford.org/); and CROWNALIFE on foods that improve digestion, by providing helpful bacteria not produced naturally in older metabolisms (http://www.crownalife.be/).
