New and updated best practice and guidance are among the tools being deployed to identify and reduce risk amid the rising fatality rate in the global oil and gas industry. Indeed, international oil and gas operators are stepping up their focus on health and safety amidst concern over the rate of fatal accidents rising since 2014. As some regulators revise and update policy and programmes to strengthen safety offshore, new and updated guidelines and standards have emerged over the past year to assist implementation of best practice.
