BY ALAN OSBORNNEW legislation to reduce pollution from tractors, construction equipment and other non-road machinery has been proposed by the European Commission which said that all future diesel engines would have to be equipped with particulate filters using low sulphur fuel. The proposed legislation will be in line with limits already accepted by the US, Brussels said.The second stage of the current directive 97/68/EC will be fully implemented for all engines covered by the end of 2003, the Commission said.
