NEW INDIA AIRPORT CITY TO BE OPEN BY THE END OF 2012

INDIA's first 'airport city', Durgapur Aerotropolis, is to be up and running by the end of 2012 in the eastern state of West Bengal, (which could be soon renamed 'Paschimbanga' by its government). The 880-acre greenfield project will include airport infrastructure and urban development, and will employ 90,000 people. With an annual capacity of half a million passengers, it is expected to provide efficient air connectivity for the whole eastern region of India and route development talks with domestic airlines have already started.
