NEW EUROPEAN COMMISSIONERS NOMINATED

THE IDENTITY of the new European Union trade commissioner charged with bringing the planned Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) to conclusion was unveiled today. Cecilia Malmström of Sweden, who is currently the EU’s home affairs commissioner, has been nominated to hold this sensitive position from November 1. The announcement came as incoming Commission president, Jean-Claude Juncker announced his planned team of commissioners for the next five years.
