NEW CIGARETTE WARNINGS

BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Commission has released a series of new approved, sometimes gruesome, health warnings for European Union (EU)-sold cigarette packs. Ensuring all the warnings meet the terms of the tobacco products directive, the Commission has stockpiled 42 designs in all the EU's official languages. Some images are truly horrific, such as a smoker with a tumour growing from his neck, or a set of fragmented and blackened teeth jutting from infected gums.
