Negotiations over a European Union (EU) directive on non-financial company reporting will begin in earnest in early 2014, with the proposed legislation being approved in principle by the European Parliament’s legal affairs committee. It has authorised a representative (a ‘rapporteur’) to debate the details with the EU Council of Ministers.
