NANOTECH CONCERN RAISED BY EU SCIENTISTS

HEALTH concerns have been raised by European Union (EU) scientists about nanoparticles in consumer products and packaging. Nanotechnology is being widely considered by the food and drink sector, but the EU's scientific committee on emerging and newly identified health risks is especially worried about carbon nanotubes, noting they have "similar characteristics as some types of hazardous asbestos..."
