NAFTA PANEL BACKS MEXICANS OVER OIL COUNTRY TUBULAR GOODS DUTY CASE

BY KEITH NUTHALL A NORTH American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) panel has ordered the USA's Department of Commerce (DoC) to reassess its planned continued levying of anti-dumping duties on oil country tubular goods (OCTG) from Mexico. The dispute focuses on OCTG manufactured by Mexico's TAMSA, which opposes the continuation of the tariffs, following a sunset review by the US government. In its conclusion, the panel has told the US DoC to reconsider its conclusion that lifting the duties would lead to TAMSA illegally dumping cut-price OCTG on the American market. ...
