The increasing violence meted out by Myanmar security forces against protestors opposing military rule looks set to deepen disruption that has been suffered by the country’s clothing and textile industry since the February 1 coup. According to local news reports, almost 60 people have been killed and 100s arrested during mass demonstrations and protests that have been continuous, with wood and corrugated iron forming barricades around neighbourhoods.
