MEXICAN clothing industry experts hope that the current stand-off over the ratification of the new United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) will be solved soon, given that they expect that it will cement Mexico’s position as a major apparel exporter to the USA and Canada. The agreement, negotiated last year (2018), has been ratified by Mexico, but ratification remains held up in the US Congress and the Canadian government will not formally adopt the agreement until the Americans ratify the deal that will replace the North American Free Trade Agreement ...
