NEW rules to speed up freezing and confiscating criminal assets across the European Union (EU) have been approved by a key European Parliament committee. The regulation as approved thus far introduces tighter deadlines for member states to execute asset freezing and confiscation requests from other EU member states, creating a standard certificate to speed up the procedure.
