MEPS FUME AT EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT SMOKING CONFERENCE BAN

ANGER has been voiced by the European Parliament's Eurosceptic Independence/Democracy group over a last minute block on hosting a January conference on smoking bans at the assembly's Brussels premises. British MEP Godfrey Bloom, the UK Independence Party, said organisers had to seek an alternative venue (a hotel) "at the 11th hour" after officials stopped the event happening at the parliament. The event, called 'Smoking Bans and Lies', included tobacco and health sector representatives, claimed Bloom.
