MALAYSIA HAS LIBERALISED OIL AND GAS SECTOR – BUT RESTRICTIONS REMAIN: WTO

A WORLD Trade Organisation (WTO) trade policy review on Malaysia has noted foreign investment in its upstream petroleum and gas projects remain restricted to production-sharing contracts between foreign investors and national oil company Petronas. That said, the report noted Malaysia has "gradually reduced (and mostly eliminated) import tariffs on petroleum and gas."
