Malaysia officially raised its minimum wage on July 1, and some business leaders are already warning that it may have far-reaching effects on both consumer prices and staffing levels. “The impact will be quite great,” said Ho Su Mong, president of the Malaysia Singapore Coffee Shop Proprietors’ General Association.
