LUXEMBOURG COURT OVERTURNS LUXLEAKS RULING

Luxembourg’s highest court, the Cour de cassation, on January 11 quashed the conviction of LuxLeaks whistleblower Antoine Deltour, declaring that his status as a whistleblower could not be questioned. However, the court upheld the conviction of the co-defendant, Raphaël Halet, ruling that he did not meet the criteria for a whistleblower as the documents he leaked did not reveal any information that could contribute to the debate on tax evasion.
