LUXEMBOURG CENSURED BY ECJ OVER THIRD COUNTRY AIRCRAFT INSPECTIONS DELAYS
April 1st, 2008 BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Court of Justice (ECJ) has censured Luxembourg over delays to its implementation of a 2004 directive on ensuring the safety of third-country (non-European Union - EU) aircraft using EU airports. The Grand Duchy was supposed to have written these safety checks into its national legislation by April 2006, but failed ruled the court, which also told its government to pay the case costs.
