LATVIAN COSMETICS AND PERSONAL CARE INDUSTRY RESPOND TO UKRAINE INVASION

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is having an impact in other countries bordering Russia. Take Latvia - Alexei Nechayev, a Russian MP who has been hit by EU sanctions, owns cosmetics company Faberlic which has its subsidiary in Latvia, Faberlic Baltija. The company is the fifth largest employer in Latvia with known investments from Russia and a 2020 turnover of EUR20.6 million. Latvia’s Consumer Rights Protection Centre (CRPC) has warned that the company is attempting to work around financial sanctions by accepting payments from Belarus and Russia via PayPal. ...
