LATVIA, GREECE THREATENED WITH ECJ CASES OVER ENERGY EFFICIENCY

THE EUROPEAN Commission has formally threatened Greece and Latvia with legal action at the European Court of Justice (ECJ) for failing to publish national energy efficiency action plans as required by the European Union (EU) energy services directive. These policy programmes should have been sent to Brussels by June 2007. They should aimed at achieving 9% energy savings by 2016.
