KONJAC BAN

THE EUROPEAN Parliament has overwhelmingly approved a permanent ban on the food additive E425 konjac in jelly confectionery because of the risks of children and old people choking on such sweets. MEP's amended the proposal, bringing forward the ban to six months after the directive enters into force, probably in a few weeks.
