NORTH Africa is never an easy market in which to do business, and the Arab Spring and its turbulent aftermath has not helped ease trade, but as the paint industry looks to 2018, there is optimism that profits can be made.
The region’s most populous country – Egypt (95 million people) – is the key to these hopes. After witnessing unsteady growth in the last few years, Egypt’s paints and coatings market is expected to rebound from the second half of 2018 as new projects take shape and political stability returns.
