JAPAN’S paint and coatings industry has enjoyed steady growth over the last couple of years, with demand growing both at home and abroad, although some of the biggest names in the industry here remain concerned about the longer-term outlook for the sector.Japanese companies produced a total of 1.73 million tonnes of paints in calendar year 2012, up 2.8% on the previous year, while production volume was up 3.2% to 1.61 million tonnes, according to the Japan Paint Manufacturers' Association.The industry body also points out that the value of its member companies' ...
