JAPAN GOVERNMENT DRAFTS NEW FOOD ORIGIN LABELLING RULES

Japan's agriculture, forestry and fisheries ministry and government’s Consumer Affairs Agency have proposed new rules on country of origin labelling for all food processed in Japan. A spokesman for the agency said the new rules have been partly inspired by concerns over food safety once the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) free trade agreement goes into effect.
