THE OUTGOING head of the EU Council of Ministers for research, François-Xavier de Donnea, has said he will write to US Secretary of energy Spencer Abraham to encourage Washington to join the ITER, (international thermonuclear experimental reactor), nuclear fusion project. He believes ITER member Russia has also tried to persuade the Americans to participate.
