ITALY-UKRAINE CLAY CERAMICS JOINT VENTURE GETS IFC LOAN

BY KEITH NUTHALL THE INTERNATIONAL Finance Corporation (IFC), of the World Bank, is lending US$9 million to Italian-Ukraine ceramic tile manufacturer Zeus Ceramica, helping it expand its Slovyansk, Donetsk region, Ukraine-based operations and improve its balance sheet. The company was established in 2003 by Italy ceramic tile producer Emilceramica and Ukraine clay and kaolin supplier Yuzhno-Oktiabrskie Gliny YUG, and now has an annual production capacity of 2 million square metres, covering a wide range of ceramic tiles.
