ITALY ADOPTS ‘BRIBE DESTROYER’ LAW

A NEW law designed to beef up Italy’s anti-bribery and corruption rules is in place having been published in Italy’s Official Gazette on January 16. Approved in December by Italy’s chamber of deputies and senate, the so-called ‘bribe destroyer’ (spazzacorotti) bars those sentenced to more than two years for corruption from holding public office or gaining a state contract for life.
