ITALIAN HAM PRODUCERS SCORE MARKETING AID FROM EU

BY KEITH NUTHALL ITALIAN ham producers are amongst the biggest beneficiaries of the latest funding from the European Commission to promote sales of European Union (EU) food and drink products outside the EU. Manufacturers of prosciutto and parma ham, will get a large share of Euro 1.78 million in subsidies over three years. Also, Italian processed meat organisation the Istituto Valorizzazione Salumi will receive Euro 400,000.
