European Union (EU) knitwear brands are facing an upcoming ban on the destruction of their products, when unsold and unused, under a proposed EU ecodesign regulation. The EU Council of Ministers is planning to insist on this ban during negotiations with the European Parliament and European Commission about a final text. With MEPS using favouring strong environmental measures in EU legislation, the ban has a good chance of becoming law.
