A DRAFT agreement on how the UK will exit the European Union (EU) would preserve any existing mutual recognition of accounting and auditing qualifications within the remaining EU and a Brexited Britain. The proposed deal, released by the European Commission, says that EU and British accountants living abroad in the EU and the UK would retain “the right to pursue the profession under the same conditions as its nationals”, if they had already secured such recognition under existing EU laws on mutually recognising qualifications.
