INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION ROUND-UP: WORLD BANK INDICATORS

THE WORLD Bank's latest global development indicators show sub-Saharan Africa as the world's laggard regarding the UN's Millennium Development Goals. For instance, east Asia/Pacific; eastern Europe/central Asia; Latin America/Caribbean; and the Middle East/north Africa regions have moved solidly towards reducing child mortality by two-thirds in 2015. But Sub-Saharan Africa's child mortality has fallen marginally, from 187 deaths/1,000 in 1990 to 171 in 2003.
