THE INTERNATIONAL Chemical Secretariat - a global environmental watchdog - has added petrol additive methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) to its 'SIN' list of toxic substances. Its aim is to "put pressure on legislators to move forward with speed and urgency" in controlling the chemical, which the secretariat says is an endocrine disrupter. * http://www.chemsec.org/list/sin-database
