THE TEXTILE minister of the Indian state of Maharashtra, whose capital is Mumbai, has told just-style that his government is ready to actively promote eco-textile production, moving the local manufacturing sector away from low-cost casual garment exports.Chandrakant Patil said: “The state government is willing to extend all support, including setting up of special textile hubs, if organic cotton growers come up with a proposal.”India exported 4,985 tonnes of organic textile and clothing products in 2012-13, a 4.38% growth over previous year, according to ...
