IFC INVESTMENT PROMOTES PERU BIOFUELS

A US$10 million equity investment in Peru's ethanol production is planned by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank. The beneficiary will be Ireland-registered and Peru-based Maple Energy PLC, developing large scale sugar-cane ethanol production in Peru's northern Piura region. This money will also help Maple expand its Peruvian oil and gas operations.
