ICAO AGREES NEW RUNWAY SAFETY ACTION PLAN

THE INTERNATIONAL Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has agreed a new five-year Global Runway Safety Action Plan, including targets and timelines for introducing measures preventing runway-linked accidents. The plan was approved at the 2017 ICAO Global Runway Safety Symposium, held in Lima, Peru, from November 17-19. It involves commitments on training, data management and assessment, the creation of runway safety teams, and more.
