BY KEITH NUTHALLA EURO 11.7 million grant has been awarded by the European Commission to a European Union (EU) research project that will try to identify novel approaches for preventing HIV-1 transmission. The European Microbicides Project (EMPRO) involves 29 institutions from Europe and developing countries and is coordinate by King's College, London.
