RESEARCHERS from the USA's University of Alabama at Birmingham have discovered rocketing vehicle fuel prices mean fewer deaths from car accidents as people slow and drive less. If American petrol prices remain at US$4 a gallon or higher for a year, USA traffic deaths could drop 1,000 per month.
