HERSHEY DENIES SHIFT TO MEXICAN PRODUCTION IS BASED ON COST ALONE

BY CHRIS JONES, in Pennsylvania, USA HERSHEY, the biggest chocolate manufacturer in the USA, has insisted that the majority of its confectionary will continue to be produced in the US and Canada, despite a restructuring plan that will see some production shift to Mexico. The company is working through plans to shed more than 1,500 jobs in Canada and the US, as more production shifts to Monterrey in Mexico.
