BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE MEMBER States of the European Union - including Britain - have come under political pressure to improve their health and safety training, publicity and monitoring for self-employed workers, especially for certain high-risk sectors, agriculture, fishing, construction and transport. The call has come in a EU Recommendation, formal guidelines adopted by the EU Council of Ministers.
