Vancouver-based Raincoast Books, the Harry Potter's Canadian distributor and publisher reported 812,000 copies of the book were sold across Canada in the first 48-hour sale period, 25% up from the previous Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Chapters Indigo, Canada's largest book retailer sold three books per second at the store's Midnight Magic launch events across the country.
