HAIR SPRAY THREAT TO PREGNANT WOMEN EXPOSED BY SCIENTISTS

A EUROPEAN Union (EU)-funded Euro 4.6 million research project will develop new antibiotics to combat highly drug-resistant bacteria pseudomonas aeruginosa. This accounts for a significant percentage of hospital-acquired infections. The AEROPATH project is led by the University of Dundee. Meanwhile, Ireland's University of Limerick will coordinate another EU-funded Euro 5 million project investigating using nanotechnology to fight another superbug - staphylococcus aureus - that triggers MRSA infections.
