HAINAN AIRLINES FLIES PLANE FROM CHINA TO USA BURNING COOKING OIL FUEL BLEND

CHINA’S Hainan Airlines has flown a plane from Beijing to Chicago fuelled by a kerosene blend including 15% waste cooking oil collected from restaurants. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner arrived at Chicago O'Hare International Airport after flying 11,297 kilometres. The fuel was manufactured by Ningbo, Zhejiang province, east China-based Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Co, a subsidiary of China Petroleum and Chemical Corp (Sinopec). It was the first international flight powered by this fuel – in 2015, Hainan flew a plane from Shanghai to Beijing using the blend. ...
